Sammi Guss is an outgoing, canine loving, freelance fashion designer from Melbourne, who takes a specific interest in designing ‘comfort wear’ and lingerie. She completed her Bachelor of Fashion (Design) (Honours) at RMIT in 2017.
Her design practice revolves around achieving comfort physically and emotionally through design, as she views fashion in a way it is not traditionally understood, not solely for aesthetics, but rather as evocative objects. With a keen eye for style and courage to try something new and out-of-the-box, she brings creativity and passion to all her endeavours.
Selected by Flaunter as an ‘emerging designer to watch’, Sammi’s Graduate Collection ‘Cultures of Kindness’ was showcased at the Emerging Designer Runway at Melbourne Fashion Week in 2017 and again at the International Fashion Student Runway at Wuhan, China Fashion Week, where she was awarded the excellence award for design. Sammi became a top 10 finalist for the Australian Fashion Foundation’s Scholarship awards in 2017.
Post graduating, Sammi was head-hunted to become the head designer of growing womenswear label Jamie My Love, Where she developed seasonal collections entirely from concept to artistic direction of the photoshoots.
