—  About

Sammi Guss is an art director, designer, creator from Melbourne. Lover of all things weird and wonderful. She puts too much butter on her bread. She resides in a space where design and the framing surrounding it are equally thrilling; Where connecting with an audience is key; And where fashion can be understood not solely for aesthetics, but rather as evocative objects. Alongside her tiny furry sidekick she brings creativity and passion to all her endeavours.

Sammi has vast experience across design and marketing both locally and internationally. Her most notable clients being Calvin Klein lingerie, Victoria Secret, Tommy Hilfiger, and most recently Art directing for Australian label Gorman.

She completed her Bachelor of Fashion (Design) (Honours) at RMIT in 2017 where she took a specific interest in designing ‘comfort wear’ and lingerie. Selected by Flaunter as an ‘emerging designer to watch’, Sammi’s Graduate Collection ‘Cultures of Kindness’ was showcased at the Emerging Designer Runway at Melbourne Fashion Week in 2017 and again at the International Fashion Student Runway at Wuhan, China Fashion Week, where she was awarded the excellence award for design. Sammi became a top 10 finalist for the Australian Fashion Foundation’s Scholarship awards.

Post graduating, Sammi was head-hunted to become the head designer of growing womenswear label Jamie My Love, Where she developed seasonal collections entirely from concept to artistic direction of all consumed visuals. She then relocated to Sri Lanka at the request of the head designer of Brandix Lingerie to analyze the cultural zeitgeist and develop a companywide product strategy as well as concepts and design developments for PVH (CK and TH) and Victoria Secret. Sammi fell in love with the country and would frequently guest lecture at the local design university on sustainable fashion. She also hit the beach. A lot. Returning to Melbourne in 2020, Sammi began working for Gorman on brand strategy/elevation, content creation and styling. Her role quickly expanded to art direction across all clothing and homewares.
